Scenario-Based
Sales Training Experience

The Challenge

Sales training often focuses on product knowledge rather than real conversations, leaving teams unprepared for live client interactions.

This resulted in:

  • Overconfidence without understanding client needs

  • Inconsistent sales approaches

  • Missed opportunities to build trust and uncover requirements

The challenge was to create a realistic, engaging training experience that would help learners practise decision-making in context, not just learn theory.

My Approach

  • Designed a scenario-based learning experience built around a fictional company, CloudTech™

  • Created AI-driven video scenarios using digital actors to simulate realistic client conversations

  • Structured learning around key moments in a sales interaction (e.g. building trust, questioning, positioning solutions)

  • Introduced decision points where learners choose how to respond

  • Used Storyline variables and triggers to:

  • Track learner choices

  • Generate personalised feedback

  • Drive progression through scenarios

  • Incorporated light gamification (ratings, feedback, progression) to reinforce engagement

  • Designed for multi-device delivery to support flexible access

What I Delivered

  • End-to-end learning experience built in Articulate Storyline

  • Fully scripted and produced AI video scenarios

  • Character-led narrative (e.g. Tom “Easy” Reed) to reflect real sales behaviours

  • Interactive decision-making pathways with branching logic

  • Feedback system comparing:

  • Learner choices

  • “Best practice” responses

  • Responsive design for desktop, tablet, and mobile

  • Cohesive visual identity aligned to the CloudTech™ brand

Impact

  • Improved confidence in handling real client conversations

  • Encouraged more effective questioning and listening behaviours

  • Shift from product-led selling → customer-focused conversations

  • Increased engagement compared to traditional sales training formats

  • Provided a safe space to practise and learn from mistakes
