Immersive Escape Room
& 360° Learning Experience

The Challenge

Learners needed to understand complex operational environments (e.g. warehouse handling, cold storage, biohazards) but traditional training lacked realism and context.

This led to:

  • Limited understanding of real-world environments

  • Difficulty applying knowledge in practice

  • Low engagement with safety-critical content

The challenge was to create a solution that would:

  • Bridge the gap between knowledge and real-world application

  • Provide context before assessment

  • Engage learners in a meaningful, memorable way

My Approach

  • Designed a blended immersive learning experience combining exploration and challenge

  • Built 360° interactive environments (warehouse & cold storage) for learners to explore

  • Embedded video content and hotspots within these environments to:

  • Explain processes

  • Highlight risks (e.g. biohazards, product handling)

  • Provide contextual knowledge

  • Followed this with a gamified escape room, where learners applied what they had learned

  • Used Storyline variables and triggers to:

  • Track learner progress

  • Unlock clues and progression

  • Control logic and outcomes

  • Integrated Synthesia AI video to guide and support learners throughout

What I Delivered

  • 360° interactive environments with embedded learning content

  • Fully gamified escape room experience built in Storyline

  • Scenario-based challenges linked directly to real operational contexts

  • Puzzle mechanics including:

  • Code breaking

  • Clue discovery

  • Locked progression

  • AI video integration for instruction and narrative guidance

  • Custom-designed visual assets and environments

  • End-to-end experience as part of a wider Job Readiness Programme

Impact

  • Significantly increased engagement compared to traditional training

  • Improved understanding of real-world environments before assessment

  • Strengthened ability to apply knowledge in practical situations

  • Encouraged active exploration, not passive learning

  • Created a memorable and immersive learning journey
